When Sierra Nevada Stories invited us to talk about Cobaya, we knew we wanted to do something memorable. With just an Instagram story the day before, we managed to gather around 50 motivated riders — snowboarders and skiers alike — even though there was barely any snow.
The morning started at my place, where Álvaro, founder of Sierra Nevada Stories, interviewed me about the brand. Nervous for my first time on camera, we filmed several takes until we felt comfortable. With everything ready, we grabbed some mates and headed up the mountain to find a spot where we could build a fun and accessible jump for everyone.
We found the perfect location in the Águila area and started setting it up. Between shoveling, taking turns to pack the snow, staying hydrated, and enjoying some good food, about 20 of us worked together. The camaraderie and energy of the group turned a day with almost no snow into an incredible experience. Everyone got to jump, learn something new, and leave with unforgettable memories. Only one friend had a minor accident attempting his first double backflip, but luckily it ended as just a story to remember.
What made the day special wasn’t just the jump — it was the connection. Seeing the community come together, collaborate, and enjoy the day reflected exactly what Cobaya stands for: the mountain, snowboarding, and friendship are best experienced together.
A single Instagram post, a little improvisation, and lots of energy were enough to create a day nobody will forget. This chapter of Sierra Nevada Stories isn’t just about tricks or jumps; it’s about community, shared energy, and the magic of turning any day into a unique experience.
