In the winter of 2023, POBRES was born — a project that captures the essence of doing what you can with what you have, fueled by pure motivation. This independent film started with minimal resources: a little cash, creativity, and a second-hand Sony Handy Cam found for just €30, which became our companion through the adventure.
The story begins in the summer of 2022 in Granada, when we hit the streets to have fun, practice, and document our first attempts at urban snowboarding. The camera wasn’t the main focus; the real goal was to capture authentic moments, the thrill of trying something new, and simply completing the mission.
When the snow finally came, we took the filming to the mountains. There were setbacks: lost files, camera malfunctions, moments of frustration. Yet nothing could stop our drive. If someone recorded a trick, great; if not, we kept going. That “POBRES” philosophy shaped a raw, authentic medley, where improvisation became beauty.
Music played a key role throughout. Vinnie Beats not only provided the soundtrack, but also shone with his video part in the film. A scene featuring a phrase was written by Antonio Guillén himself and voiced by Manuel Mandala, adding a personal, community-driven touch.
POBRES was directed and edited by Tomás Innocenti, and beyond equipment or technical quality, the film embodies a simple truth: you don’t need perfection to create something meaningful. You need passion, persistence, and the drive to tell your story.
This film is more than just urban or mountain snowboarding; it’s a testament to community, friendship, experimentation, and the energy that arises when you do what you love, with what you have, surrounded by those who share the journey.
In the end, POBRES isn’t about resources — it’s about motivation, creativity, and the freedom to make your own film, your own way.
