In Granada, Spain, skateboarding once again proved that it is far more than a sport. It is a language, a meeting point, a tool for expression. This time, it became the driving force behind GRX Skate, a project led by Kede Kids and funded by the European Union.
Through this European grant, Kede Kids was able to provide skate equipment to several youth associations across the city, creating access and opportunity where it was needed most. But the project went beyond simply distributing boards. The team visited each association personally, delivered skate sessions, shared knowledge, and focused on building long-term motivation.
The goal was not only to teach tricks, but to create confidence — to leave behind skills and inspiration so that once the workshops ended, the energy would continue.
Cobaya Dreams joined GRX Skate by organizing a free artistic T-shirt workshop alongside the skate sessions. Kede Kids trusted us to design a creative space where participants could express themselves and leave with something truly personal: a garment they had created with their own hands.
Throughout the day, skateboards rolled while creativity unfolded in parallel. Some participants painted the initials of their favorite artists. Others wrote phrases that inspire them. A few turned to nature as their reference, using leaves to create organic textile prints. Many experimented freely with color, mixing tones and textures, even incorporating materials from previous Cobaya collections. Each T-shirt became unique — a reflection of individuality and imagination.
The atmosphere was open and collaborative. There were no strict rules — only expression. Skateboarding and art blended naturally: movement outside, creation inside. Learning to balance on a board. Learning to trust your ideas on fabric. Falling, trying again, improving. Designing, repainting, discovering.
What made GRX Skate truly powerful was this dual experience — physical progression and creative exploration happening at the same time.
The heart of the project was Kede Kids. From securing the European funding to coordinating logistics, delivering materials, and activating each workshop, their commitment made everything possible. For Cobaya Dreams, it was an honor to contribute on the artistic side, adding a creative dimension to an initiative rooted in empowerment and community.
GRX Skate left more than skateboards in Granada. It left shared experiences, new skills, and a sense of connection. It showed how movement and creativity can open doors, build confidence, and bring people together.
Sometimes a skateboard creates momentum. Sometimes a hand-painted T-shirt becomes a symbol of identity. And sometimes, when community, art, and action align, something much bigger begins.
